For the first time since the pandemic, Brecon Beacons College and Penmaes learners returned to the stage in Brecon.

The Seren Stars show returned to Theatr Brycheiniog on Friday 16th June. Now on its ninth show, Seren Stars is a performing arts group for teenagers and young people from Brecon Beacons College and Ysgol Penmaes.

The show took a year to plan and rehearse, but it paid off, including an entertaining montage of songs, jokes, speeches and more. There was also a group performance of ‘Sweet Caroline,’ George’s Balloon Art and Finlay’s stand-up set.

The group provides performing arts lessons to learners with complex needs and gives them a unique space to try out different art styles. Staff believe the students should be very proud, and said that working with the students allowed them to see how much they had grown in confidence throughout the year.

The Life Skills students from Brecon Beacons College said: “The experience made us happy, excited and it was something we will never forget. We will finish the year on a high.”
