Brecon Mountain Rescue Team were called out to Corn Du on Saturday, 24 February to a walker who had suffered a significant injury.

Members of the Brecon team were accompanied by Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team volunteers, who assessed the casualty and treated them for an ankle fracture and dislocation.

Due to the cold, slippery conditions and the severity of the walker’s injury, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency Rescue 936 were called to assist the teams with transporting the casualty to hospital.

A spokesperson for Brecon Mountain Rescue Team said: “We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.“

Whilst this callout was taking place, the Brecon team received a second callout to a missing person report in the Pen y Fan area. Members of the team that weren’t attending the Corn Du incident located the missing person.
