THE Brecon Urdd Appeal Committee pulled off an amazing charity fundraising event in the Castle of Brecon last Saturday night.

The Grand Ball and Auction raised a staggering £5,545. Chair of the fundraising committee Kate Heneghan said: “We are delighted that this event takes us to within £500 of our £20,000 target. This is the result of a hardworking core of people who make up the small committee and to the generosity of the people of Brecon and surrounding area. We are extremely grateful for their support.”

The Urdd Eisteddfod is one of Europe’s largest youth touring festivals attracting around 90,000 visitors each year. The people of Brecon and Radnorshire are proud of their Welsh heritage and culture and are delighted to be hosting this prestigious event on the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells from May 28 to June 2. To ensure the sustainability of this event each host region is given a fundraising target.
