An afternoon concert was held at Maesmynis Church Hall, Builth Wells recently in aid of hall funds.
The concert, held on Saturday, December 3, included a wide selection of music which was enjoyed by the local community. Music ranged from the George Formby song Leaning on a Lamp Post, performed by Paul Jays on the banjo, to a Falklands Sonata, composed and played by Paul Jays and Penny Nicholson.
Other items included Old Fashioned Millionaire sung by Jenni Barbieri and two pieces of Chopin piano music played by Leigh Spicer.
A double bass played by Corinna Kenyon-Wade accompanied many of the items.
The finale was an audience participation version of The Twelve Days of Christmas, when everyone stood and were shown amusing movements to perform, describing the gifts in the song.
A total of £374 was raised to help fund the improvement of Maesmynis Church Hall, which was built by local public subscription on land given to the Church in 1927 by Lord Swansea.
A new committee has been formed and progress is being made in refurbishing the facilities, which are used by several local groups.
