RESIDENTS in a residential area of Builth Wells are seeing red over proposals to paint double yellow lines on their street.
Mum of three Hayley Parker is leading a hoard of Garth Road residents in fighting back against the proposals from Powys County Council.
"It's not even the Garth Road residents who are causing the problems, it's people visiting us or the Greyhound or people even parking here instead of the Groe," said Ms Parker: ""We realise there's a problem but there's no need to take a sledgehammer to it, which is what the council is doing."
Residents living in the Castle Road and Gasworks Pitch area of the town have however welcomed proposed parking restrictions.
The council's Brecknockshire committee approved a recommendation at the end of November to start a consultation on a Builth parking review.
The consultation began on December 12 and closes on January 2, with the proposals likely to go before the committee again in late January if many objections are received.
