Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe MP, David Chadwick cut the ribbon to officially open a brand new Business Support Hub in Brecon today.

The Support Hub, located at 104, The Struet, was officially opened at around midday and aims to offer advice and support to local businesses.

The project is funded by the UK Government and delivered by Antur Cymru in association with Powys County Council.

Upon opening the Support Hub, David Chadwick said: “I’m delighted to declare the Business Hub now officially open. It’s open Monday to Friday, ten til four. If you have an idea to reinvigorate our rural economy, come and start up your own business, do it here on the high street.

“It’s a beautiful high street filled with glorious Georgian buildings. There’s a wonderful team here to support you and this is where they will be Monday to Friday, ten til four. Well done to the team and everyone who made this happen. I’m declaring this Business Hub officially open!”

The Hub will provide a free service which is funded by the UK Government and delivered by Antur Cymru Enterprise.

“We support start-ups, new and existing businesses in Powys, providing specialist business advice and an opportunity for businesses and entrepreneurs,” said a spokesperson for the Support Hub.

Local businesses can get expert advice from the Support Hub in marketing and social media, digitalisation of business systems, applying for grants and business development loans, customer service, visual merchandising, pricing for profit, using Welsh in your business, consumer rights and trading standards, recruitment and retention of staff, and carbon and waste reduction.

The Hub will run workshops, networking events, one-to-one advice and more.
