The leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats and Mid and West Wales MS Jane Dodds is celebrating Small Business Saturday today (December 2).

Originally started in 2010, the campaign has been marked each year since to raise awareness around the importance of supporting Small Businesses.

Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to 'shop local' and support small businesses in their communities.

The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.

Ms Dodds said: "I am delighted to support Small Business Saturday this weekend.

"Across Wales our small businesses and entrepreneurs are the heartbeat of our economy, without them our high streets would be feeling a whole lot emptier.

"I urge everyone this weekend to go out and support a small business near you, especially during the festive season"
