NEIL Hamilton, leader of UKIP Wales and AM for Mid & West Wales, is urging young Welsh farmers to apply to take part in one of the most popular historic civic pageants in the world.

The 2018 Lord Mayor’s Show, is being held in London, on Saturday, November 10 and the National Farmers Union is now looking for people to represent British farming at the event.

Mr Hamilton, Party Spokesman for Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for our young farmers and I would urge anyone interested to make sure they apply to take part in this wonderful spectacle.

The NFU has launched a competition to find eight young farmers, who are making a real difference within farming and have great stories to tell. They are seeking nominations from young farmers, aged 18-30, who have made an outstanding contribution to the farming sector and who are passionate about the industry. The winners will join the NFU and Massey Ferguson, to support the Worshipful Company of Farmers at the 803rd show, which will also be broadcast live on BBC.

Nominations close on Sunday August 19.
