BRECON should be branded to make it stand out from the crowd, according to tourism experts.
Plans are now afoot to settle on a brand that sets out to visitors, businesses and the town's own residents what the ancient town, whose history stretches back over 900 years, has to offer.
Consultants Hidden Britain, who have worked with more than 30 communities, mainly in the south east of England since 2004 on developing rural tourism, ran a workshop at Brecon's Castle Hotel on Monday, May 23.
The event aimed at reviving the town's fortunes had been organised by the European Union funded Collabor8 Project, which is managed locally by the Brecon Beacons National Park, and is aimed at boosting rural tourism across Europe.
The branding Brecon project is the first Hidden Britain, which mainly works with councils and voluntary sector groups, has worked on in Wales.
