A LOOMING cancer battle inspired Lynnette Davies to lace up her trainers and tackle the London Marathon.

The 32-year-old Powys County Council employee underwent an operation just days before Christmas to remove pre cancerous cells uncovered during a delayed routine smear test.

But after finding out she was at risk of developing cervical cancer Lynnette, who hails from Trecastle and who now lives in Llandovery, was determined to complete the London Marathon.
