Brecon’s y Gaer Library is hosting a family-friendly celebration for World Curlew Day on Tuesday, April 21, from 11am to 4pm.
The event aims to raise awareness about one of Wales’ most iconic birds and the efforts underway to protect them.
Highlights include a storytime session, Sali and the Call of the Curlew, at 11am, along with craft activities and a Curlew Trail for children to explore.
The event is free and open to all.
The curlew is Wales' largest wading bird, iconic for its long, downcurved bill and haunting "cur-lee" call, often found in wetlands, moors, and coastal mudflats. It is a priority conservation species (UK Red List) due to a sharp decline in the last 20 years
