Pippa Boss, chief officer at Rhayader and District Community Support for nearly ten years, is set to hand over the reins to someone new.

The Arches’ (Rhayader and District Community Support) is an independent charity first set up in 1985, which provides a wide range of community services for all residents in the postcode area of LD6.

Pippa said: “I’ve had an incredible decade at The Arches. To have the opportunity to lead one of the community’s most important and treasured organisations has been a privilege.

“While I’ve been here we have opened our fabulous Community Nursery, fund-raised for a brand new minibus and accessible car, opened our Charity shop - and for a few years our furniture unit - and started several new projects including Memory Lane, Cooking Club and Cycling without Age.

“The Arches has been revamped into a Community Hub and Resource centre including Rhayader Foodbank. The best bit has been working with so many amazing staff and volunteers over the years; I will miss them all but it’s time to venture into pastures new and let someone else take RDCS into the future,” she added.
