Christ College Brecon pupils received their GCSE results this morning and enjoyed a morning full of smiles and celebrations as the 2026 cohort achieved an excellent set of grades.

With almost one in two grades at A*or A (9-7), the pupils were able to enjoy the long-awaited moment with their peers and parents while looking ahead to their next steps with ambition and excitement.

Among Christ College students 28% of grades awarded were the top A* (grades 8/9), 46% of all grades were A*–A (grades 9–7), and 84% of grades were A*–B (grades 9–5).

With a pass rate of 95%, Christ College Brecon was delighted to receive news of outstanding success across the curriculum with notable successes this year in Art, Chemistry, French and Computer Science.

Local pupils Freya (Llangorse) and Pracika (Abergaveny) collected eighteen A* grades between them and celebrated their outstanding results with parents and staff this morning.

Head of Christ College Brecon, Mr Alex Wallace, was pleased to meet many of the pupils and their families to join in the celebrations and commented: "We are absolutely delighted with these outstanding GCSE results. Achieving another significant increase in our key performance measures is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the hard work, resilience and commitment shown by this exceptional year group, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff.

“To have nearly 50% of all grades being A*/A and nearly one fifth of the year group achieving straight A*/As is simply incredible. It was a real privilege to celebrate with so many pupils and parents this morning and to share in their well-deserved success. We are incredibly proud of everything our pupils have achieved and look forward to seeing them continue to flourish in the next stage of their education.”
