Christ College Brecon pupils are celebrating a strong set of GCSE results this summer, with an impressive one in eight pupils achieving a clean sweep of A*–A grades across all subjects.
· 23% of grades awarded were the top A* (grades 8/9)
· 40% of all grades were A*–A (grades 9–7)
· 85% of grades were A*–B (grades 9–5)
· 96% overall pass rate
Nearly half of all grades were in the top A*–A band, and almost one in four grades were awarded at the very highest level (A*, grades 8/9). Impressively, one in eight pupils achieved a clean sweep of A*–A grades, with two pupils securing straight A* grades across all ten of their subjects.
Many congratulations to Seniru from Aberdare and Maddie from Llancarfan on achieving 10 A* grades in each subject undertaken.
Head of Christ College Brecon, Mr Gareth Pearson, praised the achievements of this year’s cohort: "Our Year 11 pupils have worked with great determination and ambition, and we are delighted to see their efforts rewarded with such excellent outcomes. These results highlight not only their commitment to academic excellence but also the support of our dedicated teaching staff. We look forward to welcoming them—and many new faces—into our thriving Sixth Form in September."

Deputy Head (Academic), Mr Harry Mackridge, added: "Well done to our 2025 Year 11 GCSE cohort – these are a strong set of final grades and reflect the hard work, dedication and commitment of an impressive set of pupils. These grades will provide a positive platform for the pupils ahead of commencing their exciting new courses in our Sixth Form in September – many congratulations!”
