Brecon music fans are invited to an evening with Cornwall-based singer-songwriter Sarah McQuaid, who will perform at Theatr Brycheiniog on Friday, September 5.
Doors open at 7pm, with the concert starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 (+£1.50 fee) and available online at the Theatr Brycheiniog website.
McQuaid, who spent much of her childhood in Chicago before moving to Ireland and later Cornwall, is coming to Brecon as part of her UK tour, which will then continue into October and November in the United States.
“I’ve been playing three of the new songs live during my spring tours in Europe, Ireland and the UK,” she said.
“And they’ve been going down really well, so I can’t wait to finish off the rest of the half-written tracks I’ve got in the pipeline and then get properly stuck into pre-production for the album!”
The singer-songwriter is also working on a series of “Garage Sessions” videos, which she records in a converted garage at her home, soon to become a full studio for writing, rehearsing, and recording future albums. The first video, I’m Slowing Down As I Get Older (And That’s Good), is available on her website and YouTube channel.
“And we’ve already filmed the next two,” McQuaid added.
“The first week of June was our last chance to do anything in the garage before work got under way on the roof repairs, so as soon as we got home from the spring tour we unloaded the van straight in there, set up our PA and stage lighting, and recorded two more songs before packing it all away again!”
Sarah McQuaid’s UK tour also includes stops in Warwickshire, Kent, Derbyshire, West Yorkshire, Sheffield, Worcestershire, Bedford, Bristol, and Devon.
