THEATR Brycheiniog, Powys’ leading centre for the arts, welcomes Jermin Productions’ magical Christmas pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk in just four weeks’ time.
As the panto hype is building, with limited tickets left for certain performances, the theatre is delighted to announce that it will be partnering with local charity, Dementia Matters In Powys, for its annual Christmas Appeal.
This Christmas, the team behind last season’s panto, Dick Whittington, is back at Theatr Brycheiniog, with an outstanding all-singing, all-dancing production. Returning Pantomime favourites, J-J, and South Wales’ favourite Dame, Cookie Trott, will join Jack, Jill and Luna the Cow for a breath-taking battle of the beanstalk, which unfolds amid the hilarious script, beautiful costumes and stunning theatrical sets.
Jack and the Beanstalk is being brought to the Theatr by the writer/director team of Mark and Nia Jermin, with choreography by
Nia. Jay Worley plays the role of Jack, Lailah Hughes is Jill. Adam Byard
is JJ. Anthony Argyle plays the Dame. Laura Phillips is Green Bean Fairy Queen and
Liam Dascombe is Fleshcreep.
Theatr Brycheiniog is thrilled to be working this Christmas with Dementia Matters In Powys. Newly-established, the charitable organisation works in partnership with communities to raise awareness and understanding of dementia.
Theatr Brycheiniog is proud to be supporting the charity in creating a dementia friendly environment.
Samantha Bolam, chief officer of the charity, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with Theatr Brycheiniog as their Christmas Pantomime Charity Partner this year. The Christmas Appeal is a wonderful opportunity to work together towards our common aims. We know that supporting people to live well with dementia requires a whole community approach and the Theatr has always been a supportive partner in assisting us to raise awareness locally. We look forward to working together over the festive period and beyond.”
In 2016, after performances of Dick Whittington, Theatr Brycheiniog’s Christmas Appeal raised an incredible £1,138. This was split equally between Theatr Brycheiniog and St David’s House’s Unicorn Project. This year it would be fantastic to beat this target, so please give what you can. There will be collection buckets at the exits of each performance of Jack and the Beanstalk, and you can also make a donation online on the ‘Donate’ section of our website. Any money donated online between now and January 1, 2018 will be donated to the Pantomime Charity Campaign. All funds raised will be split equally between Dementia Matters In Powys (Registered Charity Number 1172335) and Theatr Brycheiniog (Registered Charity Number 1005327).
Jack and The Beanstalk is at the Theatr on Thursday, December 28 at 2pm & 7pm, Friday 29 at 2pm(BSL) and 7pm, Saturday 20 at 2pm and 7pm and Sunday 31 at 1pm and 5pm. Tickets are priced £14/£12 and £49.
