The 10th anniversary celebrations which have been central to all the activities in the Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre (CRiC) during 2016 are reaching a climax in September with a number of events.
A birthday celebration with a difference is in store at the Manor Hotel on September 16 when CRiC hopes not only to have an entertaining social event, but also to raise money for Tenovus the Cancer Charity.
The celebrations continue with a 10th anniversary exhibition in the oriel cric gallery which promises to show an array of inspirational art from many local artists. The additional exhibition and meeting space, the CRiC Studio has started an interesting program of exhibitions and will during September host ’The Sacred Yew - an exhibition of paintings by Janis Fry and ceramics by Valerie James.
The construction of a new building in the heart of Crickhowell 10 years ago resulted in what is now a vibrant community hub and visitor attraction in its own right. Centre manager Jan Morgan said CRiC’s growth and success is down to the staff and volunteer team’s enthusiasm in embracing CRiC’s objectives of supporting small businesses and individuals and promoting the area for visitors.
She said: "Join us on September 16 when CRiC will host a charity gala dinner at The Manor Hotel to raise much needed funds for Tenovus cancer care and for CRiC. The evening is an opportunity to celebrate our successes and look forward with our volunteer team to the next 10 years of supporting Crickhowell’s businesses, community and all the visitors who come from far and wide to explore our beautiful area within the Brecon Beacons National Park."
