TOP rower Robbie Prosser proved oar-some again for Wales in the Home Countries Regatta at London Docklands, winning for the second year running and helping the team to a best ever 11 wins.

The Crickhowell oarsman, who won World U23 coxed four golds in a world best time with GB in 2022, was part of the winning Wales men's four that beat England, Scotland and Ireland at last year's event on the London 2012 Olympic course.

And he teamed up again with 2025 crew mate George Cowley to take the men's pairs this time.

Having helped Leander win the Centenary Men's 8s Head of the River Race alongside fellow Old Monmothian Jack Tottem on the reverse Boat Race course in March, he proved a commanding winner again with two-time Henley Royal Regatta medallist Cowley, who began his rowing career at Llandaff. The duo had 1/2L on Ireland at 500m and then stormed clear in the second quarter to lead by more than 3L at half-way.

And Wales kept their foot on the gas to win by nine seconds from England in seven minutes 37.21 seconds.Three members of his old school Monmouth also helped Wales' junior men's team win the John Hartland Trophy for the first time ever, named after the former rowing master there, who also led the Wales team to the 1986 Commonwealth Games.

Joe Richards was in the junior men's coxless four that came second to England, and then joined schoolmates Ed Smith and James Wardle in the eight that finished second in both the 2000m and 500m races, again behind the English.

Wales' junior boys secured wins in the double scull, quad scull 2km and sprint, and the A and B single scull races.

The junior girls also placed second in their team competition following wins in the A and B singles and the 500m quad scull sprint. Wales’ record 11 wins overall eclipses the previous best eight wins in 2012 and 2025.
