THIS week the Alzheimers Society is encouraging people to get talking about dementia.

Most people will know someone with alzheimers or another form of dementia.

With an increasing number of people developing the disease it is important for everyone to have a greater understanding of the issues surrounding care of loved ones and the challenging circumstances many will have to face.

A dementia support worker will be on hand to offer information and answer questions at two local Boots shops in Knighton (morning) on Thursday, May 24, (today) and in Brecon (afternoon) on Friday, May 25.

The Alzheimers Society is also pleased to announce a new befriending and advocacy service which will be based in Talgarth, along with a younger persons with dementia support worker and the dementia support workers for Breconshire and Radnorshire.

The contact number for the new office is 01874 712083.
