Police are looking to identify a car driver who failed to stop after being involved in a collision with a teenage pedestrian in Crickhowell.

The 15-year-old girl needed hospital treatment after she was involved in the crash which is thought to have taken place around the zebra crossing – near the entrance to Crickhowell High School – last Friday.

Police have not confirmed what sort of car was involved, but the force has said the driver did not stop after the incident which happened at around 3.45pm.

While the girl required hospital treatment, she was taken for medical help later – an ambulance did not attend the scene of the accident on New Road.

Breconshire Police tweeted about the incident on Sunday asking for anyone who witnessed it to come forward.

The tweet said: “RTC reported at New Road, Crickhowell on November 22 at approximately 3.30pm which resulted in a 15-year-old girl receiving hospital treatment.”

Dyfed-Powys Police today released a statement about the incident.

A force spokeswoman said: “Dyfed-Powys Police was called to a report of a road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 3.45pm, Friday 22nd November 2019 on High Street, Crickhowell.

“A pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in the collision. The vehicle did not stop.

“The pedestrian was taken to hospital and later released.  Inquiries are continuing to identify the driver of the vehicle.”
