A driver has sadly passed away following a two-vehicle collision on the A438 between Rhydspence and Clyro yesterday (30 July).

The crash took place at around 3pm on Thursday, 30 July.

Police officers, fire service and ambulances were called to the scene as the road was closed.

Sadly, one driver died and the other driver was air lifted to hospital. They have since been discharged.

After the recovery of the vehicles, the road was reopened at around 1.30am today (Friday, 31 July).

Dyfed-Powys Police released the following statement: “Dyfed-Powys Police received reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A438, near Clyro, at around 3pm on Thursday 30 July.

“Officers attended alongside the fire and ambulance services and the road was closed.

“Sadly, one driver passed away. Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“The other driver was taken to hospital via air ambulance with injuries not believed to be life threatening. They have since been discharged.

“Both vehicles were recovered and the road re-opened at around 1:30am on Friday 31 July.”
