Christ College Brecon has said they are delighted to announce that the school will feature in a new four-part documentary series, Trading Places, set to air nationally on Channel 5 this May.
The series will begin on Sunday, 10 May at 9.00pm, with Christ College appearing in the second episode on Sunday, 17 May. All four episodes will also be available to stream on Channel 5’s on-demand service from the launch date.
Produced by Orchard Studios, whose team has been behind a number of highly regarded television programmes, the series explores how individuals can grow and thrive when immersed in new environments shaped by strong values and a clear sense of community. Each episode follows young people as they spend time in a different institution, reflecting on their experiences and discovering new perspectives.
Christ College was selected to take part in recognition of its strong reputation for nurturing potential, its supportive and inclusive community, and the breadth of opportunities it offers pupils, both inside and outside the classroom. Filmed over the course of a week, the episode captures elements of school life that make the school distinctive, from its academic ethos to its outdoor education and co-curricular provision.
Head, Gareth Pearson, said:“We are incredibly proud to have been chosen to take part in this project. It has been a wonderful opportunity to showcase the values that underpin life at Christ College and to reflect the strength of our community. We hope viewers will gain a real sense of what makes the school such a special place.”
The experience has been a positive and enriching one for those involved, with pupils and staff alike contributing to a programme that celebrates personal growth, resilience and the power of education in shaping young lives.
With the broadcast approaching, the school is looking forward to sharing this moment with the wider community and welcoming the opportunity to highlight its unique approach to education on a national stage.
