Green Man has revealed the five artists shortlisted for its 2026 Green Man Rising competition.
Brighton school friends Glasshouse Red Spider Mite, Leeds dance-punk duo Kiosk, Heist or Hit signees The Slow Country, London-based musician Tall Child, and bilingual English-Welsh band Cyn Cwsg all in the running for a coveted slot at next year’s sold-out festival.
The live final, hosted by BBC 6 Music’s Huw Stephens, will take place on Tuesday, June 2 at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff, where the acts will perform in front of an audience of industry guests and music fans.
The competition, now in its seventeenth year, is designed to spotlight emerging talent from across the UK, with Green Man continuing its push to back the next generation of festival headliners.
The winner on the night will secure a prime prize: the opening slot on the Mountain Stage at Green Man 2026, along with a week in the studio at Prah Recordings and a vinyl release via Dinked Edition. Runners-up will also earn a place on the Green Man Rising Stage.
Fiona Stewart, Green Man Managing Director and owner, said: "Launching talent is at the heart of Green Man and our incredible 5 finalists were chosen from a record breaking number of acts. When Rising was launched 18 years ago we could never have imagined how many artists have been supported in their early careers. Our industry panel will choose which band will open the Mountain Stage at Green Man 2026!"
All shortlisted acts will also receive a professional recording at the festival.
Free tickets for the Rising final are available via Dice, with attendees also entered into a raffle to win two tickets to the already sold-out Green Man 2026, which runs from August 20-23 at Glanusk Estate, near Crickhowell.
