Tomorrow sees the start of the two-day ‘In the Name of Rock Festival’, which is based at Penmaenau Farm in Builth Wells.

Tickets are still on sale for the event, which includes camping options, and they can be purchased online.

It is an exciting event for all ages, and the Wales Air Ambulance has been chosen to benefit from the fundraiser because ‘the Charity helps a lot of people, and you never know if you might need them’.

This is the second year that the new festival has taken place, organised by TFR Jones. Last year, it raised funds for the LATCH Charity.

The two-day festival will feature live music and kids’ entertainment, plus twelve hours of food, music, drinks, camping and much more.

There will be a variety of entertainment for all the family on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 May at the farm. The event takes place from 12pm to 12am on both days.

The first day will kick off with a kids’ disco. There will be performances from the rock band Wolf Stone and Wildside, which will be followed by the headlining act Maple Rock Wales.

Saturday will see three hours of kids’ decade of dancing, Shop Front Heroes, Catz Rock/PopBand, and rock covers band Dusk Till Dawn, and the evening will finish with a DJ set.

Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury. It is delivered via a unique third-sector and public-sector partnership.

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity relies on public donations to raise the £13 million required every year to keep the helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.

This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.

As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.

Phae Jones, the Charity’s Director of Income Generation, said: “We are so grateful to TFR Jones for choosing the Wales Air Ambulance to benefit from this fundraiser. They are no stranger to raising funds for the Charity, and we really appreciate their continued support.

“This event is only in its second year and sounds like a wonderful weekend for people of all ages. You can now get your hands on tickets, so you don’t miss out. Please support this local event, which will play a part in saving lives across Wales.

“Every pound raised during the event makes a lifesaving difference. You will help keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road.”
