As Valentine's Day approaches, Outdoor gear specialists Cotswold Outdoor has revealed the top national parks for a romantic getaway in the United Kingdom.

A spokesperson from Cotswold Outdoor said: "Spending time on outdoor activities such as camping and hiking is proven to increase vitality, and when we’re happier, we’re more likely to have a better headspace and more energy to focus on our relationships."

The Brecon Beacons National Park has been named as the fourth best UK national park for a romantic getaway in Cotswold Outdoor's list.

The research uses a collective score based on the cost of an overnight hotel (peak time) or campsite stay, hashtags, search volumes, ratings, and number of on-screen appearances.

Cotswold Outdoor's research showed that the Brecon Beacons offers the second most affordable hotel-stay for two, averaging at £89.

The Lake District offers the most expensive accommodation for over twice the price of an average stay in The Brecon Beacons.

Ahead of the Beacons in their rankings is the Lake District in third, Snowdonia in second and the Peak District in first.
