A family run business in Rhayader have been forced to close, after their shop was broken into.

Watsons Family Butchers, found on West Street, reported that the thieves left with equipment needed to run their business.

Posting to Facebook, owners Josh and Lauren said: “We will be closed until further notice. Unfortunately, at sometime between 12pm Sunday 16th November and 8am Monday 17th November we were broken into. There has been a lot of equipment and meat stolen. Things we need to run our business. The whole building is a complete mess.

“As you can imagine after the last few months we’ve had this has completely broken us.”

They have asked anyone with information to come forward.

It is not yet clear when they plan to open again.
