A RADNORSHIRE family say they are being forced out of the house they have called home for over 30 years.

Gareth Pugh must leave the Powys County Council owned home at Noyadd Close in Llandrindod Wells as his father Ray, who held the tenancy, has had to permanently move into a care home, following a stroke three years ago.

The 34-year-old said he had told the council he would be willing to take over the tenancy for the home himself, but he has been refused that offer, because it would likely him living in the four bedroom house alone.

A council spokesman said: "We are fully aware of this matter and have been liaising with the family for some time. The tenant has surrendered the tenancy agreement to the property and we will continue to work with the family to identify their housing needs in accordance to current housing legislation and the council's housing allocations policy."
