The Rodd, the former home of renowned artist Sir Sidney Nolan, is set to welcome families and visitors to its popular annual community day on Saturday, August 2.
Running from midday until 5pm, the free event promises a vibrant afternoon filled with live music, storytelling, hands-on arts and crafts, garden games, nature activities, and locally sourced food and drink 0 all set within the beautiful woodland and rolling countryside surrounding The Rodd near Presteigne.
With activities designed for all ages, the day offers creative workshops and drop-in sessions that celebrate the local area’s heritage and natural beauty, encouraging neighbours and visitors alike to come together for a relaxed day out in the open air.
Last year’s event attracted hundreds of visitors, and organisers expect the 2025 edition to be just as popular.

The Sidney Nolan Trust, founded in 1985 by Australian artist Sir Sidney Nolan, preserves the largest collection of his work at The Rodd near the England-Wales border, where Nolan lived and worked in his final years. The Trust cares for his former home, archives, and 200 acres of land, running exhibitions, residencies, and creative programmes.
In 2023, the Trust merged with the Bleddfa Trust, on the basis of their shared values of creativity, ideas and arts access
