Members of Sennybridge YFC have been busy in recent weeks, taking part in a series of stockjudging events covering everything from carcasses to live animals.

Wearing their white coats, the group has been assessing a wide range of stock, including lambs, dairy cows, breeding ewes, pigs and more. The competitions gave both new and experienced members a chance to test their skills, with plenty of successes across the club.

The term culminated at Brecon Livestock Market for Stockmans Day, where several members achieved top placings.

In the carcass judging, under-16 competitor Sophie took third place, while in the under-18 category, Nia came second. Cerys was runner-up in the under-21 age group. The under-28 section was dominated by Elin, who claimed first place, followed by Nia in second and Ffion in third.

Live stockjudging also saw strong performances, with Anest finishing second overall. In the under-18 category, Rose was second and Dan third. Cerys took first place in the under-21 competition, while the under-28 line-up mirrored the carcass results, with Elin first, but Ffion coming in second, and Nia third.

An overall prize combining carcass and live judging highlighted the top performers. In the junior section, Rose came second with Abigail third. The senior overall was closely contested, with Elin taking first place, Ffion second, and Nia third.

The club wished all competitors the best of luck as they move forward to represent Powys at the national level in Wales.
