PATIENTS and potential volunteers can find out about the various organisations supporting people as they come out of hospital at an open day.
Bronllys Hospital is hosting an open day where patients and their families can learn more about the many voluntary and community groups that support patients, carers and their relatives.
People interested in volunteering are also being encouraged to attend the event at Bronllys Hospital where information on plans to potentially use the site as a "wellbeing park" will be available.
Ward manager Michelle Sweet said: "In a rural area like ours it can be difficult to learn about the many organisations, including voluntary, that can offer help and support to patients, carers and relatives.
"When our patients are getting ready to be discharged, particularly after a lengthy stay, it can be daunting but there is lots of help and support available, from maybe needing some company, to more practical support with shopping.
"Our Talk to us Information Day will involve a range of organisations who can offer help and advice, to practical support, all under one roof and very willing to talk to patients, carers, and interested members of the public, so please come along to Bronllys Day Hospital, and have a coffee and chat."
Organisations attending include the Red Cross Home Scheme, Powys Befrienders, Royal Voluntary Service - Good Neighbours, Powys Carers, Dementia Friends, CAB Energy Advice Service, Age UK, Powys Care and Repair and the community policing teams.
The volunteering information day is on Tuesday, June 14 between 11am and 3.30pm.
