Brecon and Radnorshire has woken up to a covering of snow - but there is little of the disruption predicted by forecasters.

However an overturned lorry has partially blocked the A483 between Llanwrtyd Wells and Cynghordy. Police are directing traffic in the area.

The A4081 at Llanyre, between the B4358 junction and the A470 junction, is also partially blocked because of an accident and recovery work.On Thursday night, just before midnight, three women escaped uninjured after a Renault Clio overturned on the unclassified road from Groesfordd to Bishop's Meadow, Brecon.Powys council's head of highways, Nigel Brinn, tweeted earlier this morning that all primary routes are clear after gritting teams worked through the night and secondary routes were being treated this morning.

Dyfed-Powys Police has warned people driving to Storey Arms to walk in the Brecon Beacons to park sensibly and consider road safety.

Powys council has said no schools have been forced to close but has warned it may not be able to complete its refuse collections.

The council has said it may not be possible to complete all refuse and recycling collections due to the snow. Crews are working and collecting what they are able to and the council will issue further information once it knows what areas it hasn’t been able to reach.
