A CONCERT is taking place in Brecon today to support a music charity that faces an uncertain future.
South Powys Youth Music (SPYM) runs several ensembles for young people aged seven to 18 but could lose all of its funding from Powys council.
The concert on Wednesday, June 1 at the Guildhall in Brecon, features the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Brass Band.
Though the lunchtime concert is intended to raise funds for SPYM entry is free to those under 18.
The charity’s musical director Tim Cronin said: “We have close ties with the head of brass at the Royal Welsh College of Music. They have helped us with projects in the past, so this is a continuation of an already healthy relationship with them.”
The concert will last one hour with no interval.Tickets will be available on the door at £5 each. Children under 18 go free and all ages are welcome.
