CAR parking will be free in Powys in the run up to Christmas.

Parking charges are being waved in Powys County Council operated car parks everyday, from 10am, from Saturday, December 8 until the evening of Christmas Eve.

The initiative is to encourage visitors into the county's town centres during the Christmas shopping period.

There are no charges for on-street or overnight parking in Powys.
