Residents of Llanwrtyd came together for a lively evening of Easter celebrations as the Friends of Ysgol Dolafon hosted a successful bingo night in support of local children—while also preparing for an exciting upcoming Easter Egg Hunt.

The Easter Bingo event, held on Saturday, 28 March at Bromsgrove Hall, welcomed members of the community for an evening filled with fun, laughter, and friendly competition. Doors opened at 5:30pm, with eyes down at 6:00pm as players eagerly took part in a series of bingo games.

Alongside the bingo, a raffle held on the night added to the excitement, with a range of prizes up for grabs and strong support from attendees.

Organisers were delighted to announce that the event raised an impressive £488.80, with all proceeds going directly to benefit the pupils of Ysgol Dolafon. The money raised will directly help support the school by funding additional resources, activities, and opportunities that enrich the children’s learning and overall experience.

Ashleigh Davies, Co-Chair of the Friends of the School and Manager of the Llanwrtyd & District Heritage and Arts Centre, said: “The support from the community has been overwhelming. Events like this make a real and lasting difference to the children at Ysgol Dolafon.”

The evening not only celebrated the spirit of the Easter season but also showcased the strength of community support in Llanwrtyd.

And the Friends of Ysgol Dolafon are not stopping there when it comes to celebrating Easter. The group has also organised an Easter Egg Hunt set to take place on 4 April, offering another opportunity for families to get involved.

The family-friendly trail will begin at Ysgol Dolafon and finish at the Llanwrtyd Heritage Centre. The event will start at 12pm, with entry priced at £1 per person. Participants will follow a fun trail around the town, and everyone who completes it will receive an Easter treat, which can be collected at the Heritage Centre.

There will also be a range of children’s activities taking place at the Heritage Centre, ensuring plenty of entertainment for families throughout the day.

Organisers are encouraging families and friends to come along, take part, and enjoy another community-focused event—highlighting the incredible efforts of the Friends of Ysgol Dolafon in supporting both the school and the wider community.
