The community of New Radnor are working away on raising funds to secure money from the Community Ownership Fund, awarded to them in June so that they can re-open The Radnor Arms Hotel.

Before the community benefit society can receive the £240,000 from the Westminster Government, they must match the fund. After closing in 2016, the pub was purchased last year and the community have since been fundraising to pay for it.

Now, with Christmas fast approaching, those in New Radnor are gearing up to release a New Radnor calendar, as well as hosting a Christmas sale.

As well as that, the share offer for the pub is almost ready to be launched, meaning people can buy shares in the pub and help towards the reopening of The Radnor Arms Hotel.

The calendar, titled Scenes of New Radnor and the Radnor Valley, features photos taken by members of the community. On the 1st of December, the calendar will launch, with an exhibition held at The Hub in the village.

The wooden Christmas tree sale will be held in the carpark of The Radnor Arms Hotel on the 25th of November.

The hope is that with more funds raised the community will be able to access the funding and refurbish the pub, restoring it to its former glory.
