New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine of Powys’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Pipistelle Supper Club The Old Bank at HR3 ; rated on November 17

• Rated 5: Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre Shop at Brecon Beacons, Visitor Centre, Libanus, Brecon; rated on November 16

• Rated 5: County Hall Restaurant at Powys County Council, County Hall, Spa Road East, Llandrindod Wells; rated on November 13

• Rated 5: Methodist Church at Broad Street, Welshpool, Powys; rated on November 11

• Rated 5: The Gregynog Trust at Gregynog Hall, Tregynon, Newtown, Powys; rated on November 9

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And three ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: The Smithfield Bell at Mill Lane, Welshpool, Powys; rated on November 16

• Rated 5: Masonic Hall at Berriew Road, Welshpool, Powys; rated on November 14
