Runners and walkers of Hay-on-Wye went dashing throw the (fake) snow on Sunday with the town’s annual Santa Fun Run taking place, spreading festive joy throughout the town!
Many Santas, elves, reindeers and even a few presents took part in the 5km route that started at the Parish Hall on Lion Street.
They made their way in a jolly mood towards the Clock Tower before turning left and heading to the swan and completing a loop of the town, arriving back at the Parish Hall for well deserved mulled wine, tea, coffee, mince pies, cakes and more.
This was the first year the event has been co-organised by the Hay Summer Show committee and Hay-on-Wye School PTFA; both charities that money was raised for from the Santa run.
A spokesperson for the Hay Summer Show Committee said: “A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Santa Run!
“It was truly wonderful to have our local community come together to run, jog, walk, and then enjoy some well-earned tea, coffee, mulled wine, and of course the cakes and mince pies.
“Thanks to your generosity and support, we raised money for two local charities – Hay Summer Show and Hay PTFA. Thank you all for making the event so special — we couldn’t have done it without you!”
