A COMMUNITY support charity says it will be forced to close as it is unable to meet its annual running costs.

The trustees of Hay & District Community Support say they are unable to plug a shortfall in the organisation's annual running costs.

Sandra Havard, the manager of the charity that runs community activities in Hay-on-Wye and supports volunteers, said: "Unless adequate sustainable funding becomes available prior to the trustees' meeting on August 1, the office doors will sadly close at the end of September."

The charity will still hold a pre planned fundraising concert, to support its ongoing running costs, which is to take place at Betws Chapel, Clyro at 7pm on Friday, July 19 featuring the local Monday Choir.
