Hay Town Council Communications have said the public toilets will close for refurbishment after the disabled toilets were vandalised.
The toilet cistern was cracked beyond repair, meaning there was no other choice but to close the facilities.
From tomorrow (Friday) morning, all toilets at Oxford Road will be closed while the refurbishment works continue.
“We had hoped to keep the DDA-compliant/unisex toilet open for longer,” said a spokesperson fro Hay Town Council, “but by closing it slightly earlier than planned we hope this will help the works progress more efficiently and ultimately save time.
“The good news is that the refurbishment remains on track, with the main toilets expected to reopen in approximately two weeks.
“In the meantime, public toilets are available next to the Clock Tower, including a DDA-compliant toilet. These facilities accept both cash and card payments.
“We appreciate everyone's patience while the work is completed and are incredibly disappointed that further vandalism has caused additional disruption.”
