AN HISTORIC building in Hay-on-Wye is to be opened to the public once more thanks to a lottery windfall.

The Heritage Lottery Fund has approved a final £286,000 grant to restore the former open air market space, known as the Cheese Market, and bring the grade II listed building back into community use.

Determined residents and business people have formed the Hay-on-Wye Community Interest Company (HoW CIC), which is behind the bid.
