New figures released by Public Health Wales reveal that many areas in Powys are completely clear of Covid-19
Hyperlocal data published by PHW shows that 374 of the 410 ‘middle super output areas’ it splits Wales into, have had fewer than two cases of coronavirus in the last week. Once they reach that level it stops publishing data as it risks identifying individual patients
Last week 353 of the areas, which have an average of 7,000 residents, recorded fewer than two cases. On the flip side however this week shows four parts of Wales that have had more than 100 cases per 100,000 people - which is double last week’s figure.
PHW does stress that even if your area is virtually covid free this doesn’t mean that you do not need to follow covid rules as there is still a danger of asymptomatic transmission.
