THE 16th annual Hay Festival Winter Weekend takes place next weekend with a host of famous faces on the bill.
The winter weekend will take place at Hay Castle from November 27-29 and will incorporate the start of advent.
Famous faces in the line up include Phil Rickman who introduces his new Merrily Watkins mystery, Friends of the Dusk, which is set in Hereford and will talk about the ITV series of his Midwinter of the Spirit.
Fflur Dafydd will also be there and discussing the film adaption of her novel Y Llyfrgell - The Library with actress Catrin Stewart, more commonly known for her role as Emma in the Sky1 comedy Stella where she stars alongside Ruth Jones and her role as Jenny Flint in Doctor Who.
As well as this Andrew Miller will be discussing his new novel The Crossing, Paul Mason, the Economics Editor for Channel 4 News argues that we are on the brink of change and give a guide to a Post-Capitalist future.
Misha Glenny will be investigating gang culture in Rio; Bruce Robinson nails the identity of London’s serial killer in They All Love Jack: Busting the Ripper; and Rob Penn, The Man who Made things out of Trees writes about woodcraft and ancient skills.
The program is also packed with workshops and events for teenagers including prize winning Jenny Valentine’s new novel Fire Colour One and prize winning Horatio Clare’s Aubrey and the Terrible Yoot while Catherine Barr presents her new book for younger children, Elliot’s Arctic Surprise where children can learn why it matters if the ice melts.
