More than 70 schools in Powys have already confirmed they will be closed tomorrow as the county battles snow and ice.
As Brecon and Radnorshire braces itself for another freezing night forecasters have predicted Builth Wells could be the coldest place in the UK this evening. The Met Office expects temperatures to dip to a bone chilling -13c.Among the schools which won’t be opening on Tuesday, December 12 are Crickhowell High School and Gwernyfed High in Three Cocks while Clyro Church in Wales Primary, Cradoc and Priory Church in Wales School in Brecon have also confirmed they will be closed.

The NPTC Group of colleges, which had closed its Powys campuses on Monday, has confirmed its sites at Brecon, Llandrindod and Newtown will also be closed on Tuesday.The college had earlier on Monday said the sites would open on Tuesday but reversed the decision late this afternoon, it said, due to "worsening weather".
Powys council has again cancelled waste collections for Tuesday and said it will review Wednesday’s collections tomorrow.
It said: "Waste and recycling collections have been postponed due to the road conditions off the primary road network. Waste and recycling collection staff will be redeployed to help clear snow from the county’s roads."
A yellow, be prepared warning, for ice remains in force for most of Wales throughout Monday and Tuesday.
