Members of the Cancer Research Wales, Crickhowell fundraising committee are overjoyed and grateful to confirm that Cancer Research Wales has donated a limited-edition Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) shirt in support of their up and coming online raffle, shortly to be announced.
Ann Tate, Chief Executive Officer, at Cancer Research Wales, officially handed the Welsh rugby shirt to Hazel Thomas, chairwoman of the Crickhowell committee at The Dragon Inn, Crickhowell on Saturday, June 5 2021.
The shirt was originally donated to Cancer Research Wales from the WRU and includes signatures from the 2020 Autumn International Squad, the Cancer Research Wales Ambassador Elliot Dee, Six Nations star Louis Rees-Zammit, and the British/Irish Lions Captain Alun Wyn Jones.
A certificate of authenticity accompanies the shirt and lists the names of the signatures.
Chairwomen Hazel Thomas said: “Cancer is a cause that is very close to all our hearts and we are inspired by the dedication and brilliant work from Cancer Research Wales.
“We are proud to have received this rugby shirt as a committee and look forward to organising an online raffle to help raise as many funds as possible for this important cause.”

The shirt is just one of several excellent prizes and generous donations, many of which have come from local businesses.
The group have received over 20 prizes which have been generously donated by local people and businesses, and gratefully received by the group.
The prizes include a three-course Sunday lunch for two people from The Vine Tree, Llangattock, afternoon tea for two at The Manor Hotel, Crickhowell, a meal for two people at The Dragons Head, Llangenny and a champagne breakfast for two people at Ty Croeso.
Non-food related prizes include a haircut and finish from McCarthy’s Hair Salon, Crickhowell, a computer printer from Vision Computer Centre, Abergavenny, a month’s worth of fitness classes from MJ Health and Fitness and a 45 minute deep tissue massage from Julie Cashell Sports Therapies, Crickhowell.
