Llandrindod Wells is set to celebrate the Jubille in style this June, as the team behind the much-anticipated street party have finalised ticket arrangements and plans for the event.

Fuelled by Cake, the pop-up events team, has teamed up with the Town Council to hold a Big Jubilee Street Party on Thursday, June 2 from midday in Middleton Street.

This year Her Majesty The Queen has become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service. A special extended bank holiday weekend will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the UK to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.

Local residents will be able to apply for free tickets from Thursday, April 21 at 10am online at www.llandrindod-big-jubilee-street-party.eventbrite.co.uk or in person on the following dates:

• Monday, April 25 from 10am to 3pm at Play Radnor, Temple Street.

• Monday, May 16 from 3.30pm – 6pm outside KDM Newsagents, Station Crescent.

• Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22 from 10am to 4pm at Princes Avenue Leisure Park

Ticket holders will be guaranteed a seat at the Royal Banquet table complete with meal and entertainment included. They can expect the Town Band and a fancy dress parade celebrating the “Best of British” - as well as plenty of dancing in the street and fun for everyone.

Even if you’re not one of the lucky ticket holders, the event will be open to everyone to attend free of charge – just bring along your own folding chair and picnic to join in with all of the fun.

Jude Boutle, of Fuelled by Cake said: “The idea behind the Big Lunch is to bring people together from across our community and that’s where we need your help – if you’ve a neighbour or relative who would struggle to apply for their ticket online, hop on your computer for them!

“Just imagine, hundreds of people seated along Middleton Street, tucking into a delicious picnic lunch catching up with neighbours and friends. That’s what community is all about!”
