The Friends of St Thomas a Becket Church, Huntington, have announced their first event of the year.
Retired local entrepreneur and businessman Dave Latham will present photographs of Kington and surrounding areas from as far back as the 19th century right up to the present day at Huntington Village Hall on Saturday, April 13 at 7.30pm.
The photos will showcase Kington life down the years, including it’s people, industries, transport, shops, schools, local events and celebrations.
Dave’s commentaries, observations and insights are gleaned from an original mix of historical research by Allan Lloyd along with interviews, conversations and time-honoured folklore.
Dave is a passionate photographer and the talk will include a selection of his own photographs taken over the last 40 years that capture the spirit of a community in which he has lived, worked and raised a family.
There will be something for everyone in Dave’s talk – whether you want an entertaining exploration into this much loved historic town, an evocation of what makes it so special or just a trip down memory lane.
Wine and canapés will be served after the event.
