A free event which focuses on people living with dementia is scheduled to take place on the weekend.

Author Damian Hutton, who wrote Designing Homes for People with Dementia, will be one of the speakers at the event in Llandrindod Wells on “how good design can help you live well with dementia”.

Nutritionist and cognitive stimulation therapist Denise Hutchinson, who delivers mindfulness programmes to those living with the condition and their loved ones, will also be speaking at the event

Denise, who is experienced with dementia related services, also conducts dementia access audits on built-up environments across Europe.

Both of the speakers will be speaking about the principles of good design in all buildings types, co-housing based on models from the Netherlands, as well as tips and advice on practical adaptions.

Dementia Matters in Powys, who are hosting the event at their offices in the town, have said everyone is welcome to attend.

It will be at 1pm on Saturday, November 16 at the charity’s office which is at Unit 27 in the Ddole Road Enterprise Park.
