BRECON'S 1960s built grey concrete library has been listed by Welsh historic buildings body Cadw - potentially throwing a town centre regeneration scheme into chaos.

The Welsh Government funded agency said the Ship Street building has a 'special architectural interest as a striking building of modern design'.

However Powys County Council has warned the decision could scupper its ambitious plans to redevelop the Ship Street area of the town centre.
