A HEART-STARTING defibrillator, which was once used to save a life, has been stolen from outside a pub.
Llangattock Community Council had organised for the first aid kit, which are designed to be used by members of the public if someone suffers a heart attack, to be placed on the wall of the The Horseshoe Inn.
But the device has disappeared from its green cabinet and police are now investigating the theft thought to have happened sometime during Tuesday, September 18
PCSO Lee Garrett, of Dyfed-Powys Police, said: "It is not valuable to anyone else and I don’t know how you would sell one on. It was bought by the community council and has been used to save somebody’s life in the village about three years ago."
The officer said the devices can be an essential piece of equipment in rural villages.
"I have used them in the past in my job. They are an essential piece of kit in small communities where we’ve got such a distance for ambulances to travel. All PCSOs and PCs are trained to use them.
"The cabinet has been left on the wall but we just need the defibrillator back. I don’t know why anyone would steal a life-saving device, that is what they are there for."
