Tisha Jones, who has owned the Hay-on-Wye based pre-school and nursery since 2014, has commended her staff for their hard work which led them to picking up their awards.

The pre-school picked up prizes for the Best childcare and took away the overall winner of the Mid Wales region.

Little Stars is based in the grounds of Hay Primary School and engage in weekly walks around the town where they are greeted by the community warmly, as well as weekly swimming lessons paid for by the nursery.

They also take part in regular visits to a local Care home, and encourage the Welsh language throughout the whole nursery.

After winning the awards in Newtown earlier this month, Tisha, who describes her job as the best in the world, told The Brecon & Radnor Express: “Winning the Best Childcare Award was a shock in itself, but then being announced as the Overall Winner of Best Business in Mid Wales was something we could never have imagined.

“Parents are fortunate to have many childcare options for their children, so I am forever grateful that so many choose to become part of our Little Stars family.

“I wouldn't be able to do this job without the support and dedication from the most incredible group of girls who work for me. It is one of the hardest jobs but with each other's support we make it work and have happy and thriving children. We have always had so much support from the parents and our local community.”
